A retired Livingston Parish teacher and school administrator, Charles H. Keys died at the age of 90 on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. A resident of Denham Springs and native of Collins, MS, Mr. Keys was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Air Corps as a pilot, flight engineer, and flight instructor. An educator for over 30 years, Mr. Keys taught mathematics at Denham Springs High School and retired in 1980 as Assistant Superintendent and Personnel Director for Livingston Parish Schools. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and gardening. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home Thursday, January 16th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday, January 17th at 9:00am until religious services at 10:00am, conducted by Dr. James H. Gill. Interment in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. Survived by wife, Sarah Draughn Keys; two sons, David Keys and wife Mary, and Dennis Keys; two daughters, Melanie Rushing and husband Perry, and Michelle Keys Whittington; six grandsons, Daniel and Matthew Keys, Timothy and Michael Whittington, and Shelby and Ryan Rushing; one granddaughter, Sarah Rushing; two great-grandsons, Kayden and Nathan Whittington; and sister, Mrs. Lyn Tutor.
