Carter, Jimmie Lee  
Jimmie Lee Carter, a retired chemical processing operator for Vulcan/Occidental Chemical Company completed his last season of life on Saturday, September 17, 2016. He was 65 years of age. He was a native of Metairie, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He will be sadly missed by his two children Jennifer Carol Jasper and Jason Paul Jasper; one sister, Geraldine Carter Brumfield; four brothers: James, Josephus, Earl Ray and Carlton Carter; a very devoted and loving friend Dian Kent, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. Matthew Methodist Church, 1100 Verret St. (Algiers) New Orleans, LA at 9:30 am. Pastor Simon Chigumira Officiating. Visitation from 8:30 until service time. Interment: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Chatawa, Mississippi. Carter, Mary  
Sister Mary Carter was born on February 6, 1919. She transitioned on September 21, 2016. Mary was 97 years old at the time of her death. She was a native of Zachary, Louisiana. Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, Carey and Edith Carter. Brothers William, Noah and Eugene Carter and sister Olivia Carter Wallace. Surviving sisters are twins Elmira and Annie Carter of Zachary, Louisiana who she assisted in rearing due to the death of their mother during childbirth. She is survived by her son, McKinley Carter of Houston, Texas and daughter Pearlena Hamilton (Alfred) of Ville Platte, Louisiana. Four grandchildren, Kia Reddix, Brandon Carter, Duane Thomas (Helen) and Ryan White. Eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Zachary, La. Visitation is Saturday, Sept. 24, at 9:00 am and Services will be 11:00 am. The church address is 22911 Reames Road in Zachary, La. Rev. Perry Jones will conduct services. Richardson's Funeral home in Clinton, La. is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Cooper, Gregory Emile "Greg"  
Gregory "Greg" Emile Cooper passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 at the age of 55. He was born in Natchez, Mississippi to loving parents, Willard Mitchell Cooper, Sr. and Juanita Barnes Cooper. He attended elementary and high school in Wilkinson County and graduated from Wilkinson County High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi. Greg served our country by enlisting in the US Navy and was honorably discharged after serving five years. Greg accepted a position with Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality where he remained until his final moments. Greg leaves behind his loving family: two children, Jeremy Cooper and Abrianna Cooper, Zachary, LA; the mother of his two children, Annie R. Cooper, Zachary, LA; his siblings: Gwendolyn (Clarence) Oubre, San Diego, LA; Bernell (Victor) Boyd, Temple, TX; Verna Dean (Vincent) Brown, Reston, VA; Veronica Cooper-Ross, Woodville, MS,; Adrienne Delone Cooper; Woodville, MS; and Willard (Sheretha) Cooper, Jr., Woodville, MS; his nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, co-workers, and friends. The viewing will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 from 4 – 7pm at D. Rollins Funeral Home, 409 Sligo Street, Woodville, Mississippi. Funeral services Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Magnolia Baptist Church, 190 Magnolia Church Drive, Woodville, MS at 11:00am.

Riley Corbett, 60, a resident of Kentwood, departed this life Monday, Sept. 19, 2016 at Post Acute Specialty Hospital, Hammond. Lionel Cummings, affectionately called ""Boo"" passed away on Sat., Sept. 17, 2016. Campbell, Patricia Lynn (Simoneaux)  
Patricia Lynn Simoneaux Campbell, passed away surrounded by her family on September 19, 2016 at the age of 65. She was born on July 4th, 1951 in Baton Rouge and was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph Academy. Patti, as she was more affectionately known, cherished her family and friends and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She was an excellent athlete, a life-long bowler and avid sports fan, especially watching activities in which her children or grandchildren were involved. Patti started her career working at the Department of Agriculture and went on to work at Frourrier Insurance Agency for a number of years. She retired as the bookkeeper of St. Michael the Archangel High School in 2014 and most recently worked at a CPA office. Along with these jobs, Patti always worked additional jobs, most notably with bowling centers. She was always one to work and play hard, never passing up an opportunity to enjoy a good time and laugh at a good joke. She is preceded in death by her father, Louis P. Simoneaux, Jr., and her mother, Beverly Landry Simoneaux. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Jill and Jason Lamberth, Matthew and Rebecca Campbell, and Wade and Joanna Campbell; her brothers, Louis Paul III "Doody" and Rusty Simoneaux; sisters, Linda Thibodeaux and Dottie Monistere; 7 grandchildren, Morgan Lamberth, Jude Lamberth, Maxwell Lamberth, Luke Campbell, Blake Campbell, Brielle Campbell, and Betsy Campbell, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Patti was known for her feisty but fun personality, as well as her ability to get things done by always working hard. She will be truly missed by all those who knew her. The family wishes to thank all those who were there for her during her struggle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Resthaven Garden of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Resthaven from 10:00 AM until 12:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1PM at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Effie LeBlanc Carney, 96 was called home from this life on Monday, September 19, 2016, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello; MS. Mrs. Effie was born January 28, 1920 in Donaldsonville, LA, to William Joseph LeBlanc and Modeste Collet. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Jayess Baptist Church with services beginning at 8PM. Visitation will be Thursday September 22, 2016 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA. A visitation will continue Friday, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, September 23, 2016 with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery in Baton Rouge, LA. Surviving Mrs. Carney are her two sons, Gary and Donna Carney of Baton Rouge, LA; Emery and Tracey Carney of Jayess, MS; one daughter Darlene Carney of Gonzales, LA; daughter-in-law Vi Carney of Kingston, OK; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. We would like to give special thanks to her care givers Neoder "Pony" Brister and Rhonda Hackett. Preceding her in death were her parents, William Joseph and Modeste Collet LeBlanc, husband Price H. "Peck" Carney, son Henry C. Carney, great granddaughter Jennifer Small, sisters; Sadie Carona and Dolores Behrnes.
