Obituaries from Two Days Ago

Crum, Jewel McCallum
Jewel Abie McCallum Crum ("Bamma"), born September 11, 1923, was welcomed into our Lord's presence on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at age 93. A native of Baton Rouge, Jewel is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Delee Boyd Crum. She is survived by her sons, Randal Delee Crum and wife, Karen, of Montgomery, Texas; Ron Crum and wife, Patti, of Baton Rouge; and her daughter, Nancy Crum Brignac and her husband, Martin; three grandchildren, Jeremy Brignac, Kirby Crum Bowles, and John Cory Crum; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Our mom was an intelligent, strong lady. She was a counselor, teacher, friend and confidant to many. She wrote in her memoirs, "it is fitting, as we say good-bye for now, that I have already been welcomed into our Father's house and I am home. I wish I had more crowns to place at his feet." Her life will be celebrated in a private family gathering at a later date. Our sincerest and heartfelt appreciation and thanks go out to Pastor Steve Foster and family at Community Bible Church, Clarity Hospice, Care Pass Med Services, and the staff at The Haven. All of mom's caregivers were of unending patience and compassion. Their collective kindness and help was invaluable to the whole family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Bible Church, 8354 Jefferson, Hwy, BTR, LA 70809.
