A resident of Oakwood Village, he died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at his home. He was 93 years old and was retired from Scott Paper Co. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 from 1pm until 3pm. Graveside service will be on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at 11am at Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Emma Welch. 2 daughters, Kaaren Gammel and husband, Jim, Zachary and Debra Pitts and husband, Roger, Daphne, AL.
