William Seay Strain died on July 9, 2013 after a brief illness. Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Rabenhorst Funeral home on Government Street. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until Service time. Services will be officiated by Father Peter Dang under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Amy West Strain and his parents, Robert Charles Strain and Elizabeth Victoria Seay Strain. He was a graduate of Washington and Lee University and Louisiana State University Law Center, where he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review. He was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1974 and the State Bar of Texas in 1993. He was a member and former Chairman of the Mineral Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar and a Fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation and the Louisiana Mineral Law Institute. He was a member of AAPL, PLANO, BRAPL, LAPL, HAPL and DAPL. He also served as Captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ullrich Strain; his daughter, Kelley Wingate Strain Mackenroth and her husband, D. Irwin Mackenroth, Jr.; son, Matthew West Strain and his wife, Stephanie Cottone Strain; grandchildren, Cecelia Amy Strain; Luke West Strain; Amy Elizabeth Mackenroth; Mary Margaret Mackenroth; Donald Irwin Mackenroth, III; brother, Charles Richard Strain; sister, Helen Elizabeth Strain Harrison; godson, Charles Rohm IV; nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Megan Sinquefield; Jessica Greer; G. Justin Moore; Margot Wood. He is also survived by his longtime housekeeper, Colleen Hickerson, and Attorney Associates Mark Marinoff and Jonathan Jacobs.
