A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2014, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Aloysia "Lo" Carter Butler, 88, who died May 23, 2014, at Crowley American Legion Hospital. Fr. Mark Miley, associate pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be observed Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings. "Lo" graduated from Grand Chenier High School as class valedictorian in 1942. She attended LSU in Baton Rouge for two years and graduated from New Orleans Charity Hospital Nursing School in 1946. She was a member of the Red Bobbin Sewing Group, and a member of the Crowley Town Club, where she served as a past court member. She was also involved with the Notre Dame and St. Michael School fundraisers and PTA. She loved to travel, especially for her yearly September trip to Orange Beach, Alabama. She was a devoted and loving mother to her four children, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her companion, Joel Pousson, of Iota; one daughter, Beverly B. Domingues of Lafayette; three sons, Stephen B. Butler and his companion, Roberta Gordon, of Estes Park, CO; Larre G. Butler and his wife, Corliss, of Crowley, and Brandon P. Butler and his wife, Karen, of Crowley; seven grandchildren, Larre F. Butler II, Luke A. Butler, Sasha B. Shamsie, Diane E. Domingues, Denise A. Domingues, Lacey B. Langley, and Alison B. Citron; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Butler is preceded in death by her husband, Larre F. Butler; her parents, Stephen and Lorena Miller Carter; two brothers, Brandon Carter, and Dr. Stephen Carter; and one son-in-law, Mark Domingues. Pallbearers will be Frank Butler, Luke Butler, Seth Citron, Alvin Langley, Clayton Shamsie, and Brad Maloz.
