A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Ethel, he passed away at 5:49 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 at Guest House. He was 84 and a retired Associated Grocery employee. Visiting at Second Baptist Church, Monday, Dec. 31 from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. Leo Cyrus. Interment at Southern Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Lillie M. Sanders; his daughters, Matricia Green, Jerry D. Sanders, Jossie M. Brumfield, and Inez M. Sanders; his sons, Herbert J. (Ann) Sanders, Jr., John W. (Sylvia) Sanders, and Willie J. (Elaine) Sanders; his sisters, Bernice Howard and Fannie Griffin, both of Chicago, IL., Ivy Lee Grimes of Baker, and Lee Ella Sanders of Baton Rouge; one brother, Tolers B. (Barbara) Sanders; 16 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; two sisters; paternal and maternal grandparents; aunts and uncles; and mother-in-law and father-in-law. Arrangements with Desselle Funeral Home, 263 Eddie Robinson Drive, Baton Rouge.
