Hester Harrell Nesom, 97, of Livingston, La., passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family and close friends. She loved her Lord and Savior, family, friends and church with all of her heart. She always found the good in others. She was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She had a special bond with her class. She loved children and had a passion for teaching them. She taught preschool and kindergarten for many years, touching the lives of children in her community. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Heard, and husband Gene, son, Donald E. Nesom, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Nesom, father, Thomas A. Harrell, mother, Ollie E. Gros, brother, Elvin A. Harrell, sons, Richard J. Nesom, Daniel R. Nesom and David L. Nesom. Her door was always open for company, with something cooked at all times, in case you stopped by hungry. Her kind and giving spirit will be missed. There will be a visitation held at Red Oak Baptist Church in Livingston, Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume at Red Oak Baptist Church on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Services will be officiated by Rev. Wilton Wall, and Rev. Eddie Rhymes.
