She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday morning, August 5, 2014. She was 85. She was a resident of Bayou Pigeon and a native of Pierre Part, La. She was a gentle, kind person, who helped anyone in need. She loved sewing quilts and doing puzzles. Family was everything to her, and she taught her family love and patience by her actions. She is survived by: 2 daughters, Cheryl Berthelot Vaughn and Stacey Berthelot Luker and husband Michael; 1 sister, Pearl Blanchard Aucoin; 4 grandchildren, Vicky Lynn Blanchard Landry & husband Daryl, Larry J. "T-Boy" Blanchard, Jr. & wife Tammy, Barry Blanchard & wife Yvette, and Alyssa Luker; 9 great-grandchildren, Taylor & Cade Landry, Luke & Mary Blanchard, Chad & Chet Benoit, Justin & Jake Winters, and Caleb Stelly; one great-great-grandchild, Olivia Benoit; sister-in-law, Florence Blanchard; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Clevin A. Berthelot; Parents: Oleus & Enola Blanchard; 1 sister: Agnes Sauce; 4 brothers: Cleveland Blanchard, Eneaux Blanchard, Eloyse "Black" Blanchard, Percy Blanchard; son-in-law: Thomas Vaughn. Visiting will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Wilbert Funeral Home of Plaquemine and again from 8-10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, conducted by the Rev. Father Gregory Daigle. Interment will be in Grace Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Larry "T-Boy" Blanchard, Jr., Barry Blanchard, Mike Luker, Daryl Landry, Cade Landry and Chet Benoit. Luke Joseph Blanchard is the honorary pallbearer.
