Mary Patton Aycock passed away on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009. She was the beloved mother of Lynda R. Aycock, Lester C. Aycock Jr., Robert E. Aycock, Suzanne A. "Cookie" Lafourcade and Michael P. Aycock; grandmother of two; and sister to Joan P. Comeaux and Frank H. Patton Jr. Preceded in death by her husband, Lester Charles Aycock Sr.; a daughter, Mary Emma Aycock; her mother, Cynthia Ruth Sanders Patton; her father, Frank Howard Patton Sr.; a sister, Cynthia Patton; and a brother, William Patton. She was 86, a native of Meridian, Miss., and a resident of Mandeville for the past eight years. Mary had been a longtime resident of New Orleans where she was a member of the New Orleans Geological Auxiliary. She will be remembered for her zest for fashion and travel. She belonged to several volunteer organizations in Baton Rouge. Mary loved to take daily power walks, prepare the altar for Mass and sing to fellow residents at Wynwood of Mandeville. A celebration of life memorial service will be held in Baton Rouge at a later date.
