A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for Tommy J. Deaville, Sr., 55, who died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 9:50 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Tommy was a native and lifelong resident of Iota and was a 14 year reserve officer with the Iota Police Dept. Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Iota. Tommy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sally Matthews Deaville of Iota; one daughter, Jamie Deaville and her fiance' Joe of Iota; two sons, Tommy "Jay" Deaville, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Iota, Cody Deaville and his wife Ashley of Basile; two sisters, Marlyn Guidry and Suzanne Leckelt both of Iota; seven grandchildren, Natalee Deaville, Leighton Deaville, Ayden Deaville, Kaleigh Deaville, Jaylee Boudreaux, Jayon Boudreaux and Miriah Beard; two godchildren, Wayne Mulkey and Lea Leckelt; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Mary Miller Deaville; one brother, Rickey Deaville, Sr. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.geesey-ferguson.com.
