Edith Talbot passed away peacefully in her home, Wednesday, February 26th, surrounded by all of her children. Edith grew up in Bogalusa, LA, and attended both St. Mary's Dominican and Southwestern Louisiana colleges. After college, she moved to Baton Rouge where she married the love of her life and went on to raise her four children, and countless strays. She was a loving and devoted wife of 57 years, and was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Talbot Sr., along with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Karl Starns, brothers Karl Starns and Dick Starns, sister Audrey Gann, and great grandson Juray. She is survived by her four children, Vickie Tompley and husband Bill, Susan Snelling and Stan Odum, Bobby Jr. and wife Lisa, and Nancy Talbot; grandchildren, Josh, Jacob, Casey, Brittany, Jeramie, Gabriel, Sarah, and Jordan; great grandchildren, Hailey, Celeste, Tayler, Ava, Jackson, and Jude, and numerous nieces and nephews. Edith was the sweetest, most patient person her family and friends have known; the "rock" of the family. She was a devoted wife and mother, and was the glue that held everything together. Family and family friends would gather every Sunday to spend the day at the Talbot home, while she prepared a wonderful meal and always had a treat for everyone.. All she wanted in life was to see her family stick together and grow. She had unconditional love for everyone she knew, and welcomed everyone with open arms. Words cannot do her character justice, as she was simply the best. Visitation with be at St. Thomas More Church on Saturday, March 1st at 10 a.m. and mass at 11a.m., with Fr. Matthew McCaughey. Burial following at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Josh Jackson, Jeramie Snelling, Jacob Jackson, Jordan Talbot, Gabriel Odum, and Jody Morris. Special thanks to Elsie McLean, caregiver and most of all, friend.
