Milton Lewis Sholmire, 64, born Sept. 14, 1944, in Converse, died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at River Parish Hospital, LaPlace, due to cardiac arrest. Lewis served in the U.S. Air Force for seven years and retired from GE as an electrical engineer. Survived by his very caring, loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Barbara Crochet Sholmire; children, Ashley Michelle Sholmire Weber and husband Jeffrey, Christine Cedotal Wade and husband Roger, and Wayne Cedotal Jr. and wife Lorraine Gradeck; three sisters, Sandra Sholmire Roberts and husband Edward, Linda Sholmire Cannon and husband Leo, and Alma Sholmire; and brother, Roy David Sholmire and wife Judy. Also survived by his wonderful grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Weber, Paige, Austin and Brittany Cook and Michael Cedotal. Preceded in death by his parents, Milton LB Sholmire and Opal Aten Sholmire Sandifer; maternal and paternal grandparents and in-laws. Visitation at Faithful United Methodist Church, 14253 La. 431, St. Amant, on Tuesday, July 28, from 10 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, 604 E. La. 30, Gonzales.
