A native of Pineville, La. and resident of Baton Rouge, La. passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012. He was 73 years old. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Guidry Nugent; daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Nugent Huber and husband Michael; son, Clayton Douglas Nugent III and wife Teresa; sister, Patricia Nugent Boucher; brother-in-law, Stewart A. Guidry and sister-in-law, Phyllis Guidry Hawthorne; 2 grandchildren, Craig Philip Huber and Ryan Michael Huber; 4 great grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews and a great nephew, Justin Hawthorne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Sr. and Altha Lacroix Nugent, and brother-in-law, Edmond Boucher. Doug retired from Schuykill Metal/Exide Industries after 30 years of service and was a past District Deputy and 30-year member of the BPO Elks Club of Baton Rouge, Lodge # 490. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012 from 3 p.m. until the Memorial Service at 5 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge.
