To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. You were a mother, daughter, sister, friend , and classmate. I remember you most as our beloved mascot. You've fought the good fight of faith, you did what you could. You served the Lord and your community. Well done thy servant. Sleep on Princess may the flight of the Angels take the to thou enternal resting place.

Women Veterans of Louisiana salute Latonia Jonell Shropshire's military service in the Army National Guard. Here is a poem written for our women who served in the military:
She is a woman soldier
Whose service was true
She proudly served
The Red, White and Blue
She gave a part of her life
So others could be free
Without any hesitation
She joined unselfishly
She did her job well
With Honor and Pride
And served her great country
With the men alongside
We're proud today to know
That although she is gone
She goes on to glory
After a job "well done"
And so, "Our Dear Sister"
We salute you today
A special soldier laid to rest
In this quiet, solemn way
Inspired by: God
