A retired mechanic from Shell Oil Company who loved to build race cars, he passed away on Monday, Jan 14, 2013, at his home in Addis at the age of 63. He was a born in Iowa and grew up in Plaquemine. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Saturday, Jan 19, 2013 from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service at 3 p.m. conducted by Rev. Butch LaBauve. David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debbie Gaudet Hoover of Addis; children, Crystal Hoover Devillier and husband Kevin of Plaquemine, Cody Cook and husband Ryan of Alabama, David Lyle Hoover Jr. of Addis, Danielle Rowley and husband Kevin of Baton Rouge, and Tammy Blackwell and husband Lynn of Baker; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sallie Thompson and Susie Munson; 1 brother, Danny Hoover.
