Mrs. Shurley lived across the hall from my mother at the Haven. My husband and I always enjoyed chatting with her. She was a sweet, caring lady.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

Richard, I'm so sorry to learn of your Mom's passing. She was such a sweet lady, always so kind to me. I will cherish the memory of knowing her. I know she is rejoicing now as she reunites with your Dad and other loved ones.

Dear Shurley Family,
I just loved your mother...she had the kindest, sweetest smile! I remember passing by her home in Park Forest and admiring those beautiful daylilies. She was a lovely, gentle spirit and I know that she is "present with the Lord," your father, Kyle and all those loved ones gone before her--a wonderful hope that we all have who know Jesus as our Savior. Please know that my thoughts are prayers are with you.
