Teddy Charles Heil, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at the age of 83 with Alzheimer's disease. Teddy was a Mechanical Engineer having retired from Jacobs Engineering, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a 1946 graduate of Catholic High and attended LSU and the University of Houston. Visitation will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Monday, June 24, 2013 from 9:30am until Mass of Christian burial at 11:30am conducted by Rev. Jerry Martin. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Teddy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bernice Blanchard Heil, two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie Heil Saunders and husband Michael, Cindy Heil Norwood, three sons and daughters-in-law, Pat Heil and wife Kay, Don Heil and wife Susan, and Darrel Heil and wife Becky, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, five brothers, Barry, Ray, Tommy, Leo, and Leroy Heil, and a sister Betty Heil Braud. Preceded in death by his parents, Earl Heil and Orelda King Heil, and a son-in-law, Michael Norwood. Pallbearers will be Scott, Steven, Troy, Hunter, Cameron and Drake Heil. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The family would like to thank his loyal, loving caregiver, Willie Mikell and his former caregiver, Felicia Williams and Hospice of Baton Rouge.

Mrs. Berniece so sorry for the loss of your loved one. I know he will be missed , you were an excellent caregiver and gave me strength with my mother battling the same disease. You are in my prayers. I am your neighbor down the street.
