A native of Franklinton and resident of Baton Rouge passed away, Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the age of 99. She was the matriarch to her beloved family and loved to cook. She lived a health conscious lifestyle through her diet and exercise. She was an avid reader and loved watching sports especially golf and the Atlanta Braves. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Saturday, November 2, 2013, from 10 AM until the funeral service at 12 PM conducted by Rev. Carol Civils of University United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Zufall and husband, Richard; three grandchildren, Richard Dana Magee Sr. and wife, Betty, Gretchen Kay Zufall and husband, Hardy Justice, and John Melville Zufall and partner, Thad Laiche; five great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melville P. Schumacher; parents, Willie Eugene and Clara Bateman Magee; three brothers and seven sisters. Pallbearers will be Richard Dana Magee, Sr, John Melville Zufall, Richard Dana Magee, Jr, Dave Gafford, Russell Stringer, and Larry Stringer. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Baton Rouge, Whealdon Estates, Sincerity Services and Branch Medical and also Dr. Patrick Gahan for all of your love and support. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to University United Methodist Church.
