Marilyn Daffan Pastorek passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 at the age of 84. She was a native of New Orleans, and a resident of Baton Rouge since 1954. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marilyn loved to cook for her family and play bridge with her friends. She especially enjoyed making Christmas cookies and this year's cookies were her best ever. Marilyn was a longtime volunteer at the Woman's Hospital, and a faithful and devoted member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Richard L. Pastorek; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Sally Pastorek, and Rick and Heather Pastorek; two daughters and son-in-law, Lynn Consentino, and Lisa and Tom Gallagher; 16 grandchildren, Rachel Pastorek, and Sarah Cossack (Matt), Chandler, Taylor, Mason, and Noah Pastorek, Tina Minchella, Tessy Kingery (Shelley), Anthony Consentino (Jenn), Vincent Consentino (Ashley), Sabrina Consentino, and Sam Consentino, Bobby, Tommy, Jack, and Reese Gallagher; 7 great-grandchildren, Abby Minchella, Elliott and Scarlett Kingery, Alexandra Hoffman, Domenico and Evelyn Consentino, and Andrew Cossack. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Eve Broussard Daffan. Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 8 pm, Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Visitation will continue at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Avenue, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Friday, December 27, 2013 from 1 pm until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 pm. Pallbearers will be Tom, Bobby, Tommy, and Jack Gallagher, and Chandler and Taylor Pastorek. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Richard & Family, I am so very sorry for the lost of Marilyn. She was one of a kind! Always so much fun to be with her . she will be missed greatly by all who knew her. You are all in my prayers & thoughts during this most difficult time.
