Edward Ulysses "Pepper" Perrilloux, Jr., 65, of Baton Rouge went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 2:20 a.m., after a strong battle with liver cancer. He died at his home, surrounded by family. He was born the oldest of four children to the late Edward Perrilloux and Marie Trepaginer Perrilloux in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is preceded in death by his brother, Reynald Perrilloux. Pepper, a U.S. Army veteran, owned and operated Pimanyoli's Restaurant alongside his wife. Although most commonly known as Pepper, he also held other titles and answered to the names "Baby" (as called by his wife), "Daddee" (as called by his daughters), "Papi" (as called by most of his grandkids), and "Hat" (as called by James, his middle grandson). Pepper, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, is survived and will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Yolanda Pass Perrilloux; three beautiful daughters, Tamiko Perrilloux Houston (Derrick), of LaPlace, Louisiana, and their children Kobie and Kaleb: Nykya Perrilloux Freemont (James), of Atlanta, Georgia and their children Jackson and Mason; and Anya Perrilloux, Esq. and her child, James "J" Tyson, III of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is also survived by his sisters, Maria Perrilloux Roussel (Rudy) of Decatur, Alabama and their children Rudy Jr. and Rakio Roussel Carruthers (Keith) both of Decatur, Alabama; and Gizelle Perrilloux Cooper (Drexel) of Houston, Texas and their children Brandi Cooper Gonzales (Michael) and Jade Cooper Dean (Noel) and their son Knight, both of Houston, Texas. Also survived by nephews Reynald "RJ" Perrilloux, Jr. (Latrice) and their children Jackie and Darrius of Sacramento, California and Todd T. Perrilloux of Vacherie, Louisiana both sons of his late brother. Additional family included his mother-in-law Verdi Pass, sister-in-law Wanda Pass and brother-in-law Rodney Pass. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, and a plethora of cousins and friends who played very important roles in his life. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for him during his last month. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of Baton Rouge, Dr. Shaban Faruqui or Caring Bridge. Arrangements have been provided by Church Funeral Services and Gospel Light Baptist Church. Our church family has organized a memorial celebration to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22nd at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 20440 Highland Rd, in Baton Rouge. The repast will be at Pimanyoli's Sidewalk Café at 14241 Airline Highway in Baton Rouge.
