A native and resident of Plaquemine, she passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at her residence. She was 76. Dela was a longtime cook in Iberville Parish, who lived her life to the fullest. The family will gather at Roscoe Mortuary, 58635 Merian St., Plaquemine on Friday, March 7 from 4-6 p.m. Religious service at the Greater St. Mary Baptist Church on Saturday, March 8 at noon, conducted by Rev. Geoffrey Sykes. Interment in Roscoe Memorial Cemetery. She is survived by one son, Gerald Williams; one sister, Verna Lee Davis; one brother, Lester H. Brown; one grandson, Robert Lee Cole; one great granddaughter, Kristian Williams; and three sisters in law, Eleanor Brown Roscoe, Yvonne Brown and Bobbie Rose Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Thomas Brown, Jr.; brothers, Sgt. Robert, Thomas, Leroy and Willie Brown, Sr.; and sister, Annie Lee Grass.
