Calliope Theodories Kyriakos passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at the age of 91. Mrs. Kyriakos was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the 54 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Pete D. (Patterson) Papadopoulos by first marriage and the late Isidoros M. Kyriakos by second marriage. Mother of Dennis P. Papadopoulos, daughter in law to Denise M. Papadopoulos and grandmother to Peter D. and Andrew D. Papadopoulos. Daughter of the late Athena Zarife Theodorides and Constantine Theodorides. Beloved sister to the late Effie T. Georgeadis Levy. Calliope was a member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Her fondest memory was working with her father in his Sweet Shop. She was employed over 40 years at Gus Mayer in New Orleans. A funeral will be held Friday at 12:00 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1200 Robert E. Lee Blvd. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery #3. Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Calliope's name. Online guest registry available at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
