A laborer, a U.S. Army veteran, and a resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014. He was 75 and a native of Centerville, MIss. Visiting will be held at Hall's Celebration Center, 9348 Scenic Hwy., on Wednesday, March 19, from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Interment in Louisiana National Cemetery. Survived by his mother, LIzzie Jones Grant; a brother, James Jones Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Charlie Gardner; stepfather, George Grant; two brothers, Isaiah Matthews and Edward D. Grant Sr.; and aunt, Eliza Jones Burgess.
