Thomas Bourgeois, Jr., 72, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Thomas was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, an extremely talented woodworker and an excellent gardener. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was an avid LSU baseball and football fan. Thomas graduated from LSU, where he received a Bachelor's in Science for Mechanical Engineering. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Talazac Bourgeois; daughter, Becky Calegan and husband Gerald; son, Scott Bourgeois and wife Monika; daughter, Michelle Tichota and husband Robert; two grandchildren, Katie and Lauren Calegan; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Anita T. Brechtel and Cindy Bourgeois; and mother-in-law, Elaine Talazac. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas, Sr. and Marguerite Tonnelier Bourgeois; brother, George T. Bourgeois; infant sister, Terry Bourgeois; father-in-law, Edmond Talazac, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Edmond Talazac, Jr. Visiting will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 11 am until funeral service at 2 pm, conducted by Father Jerry Martin.
