Murdock Clifton Stewart Sr. passed away at 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Jefferson Manor Nursing Home., He was 80, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a salesman and a musician who loved to play the drums. Survivors include a daughter, Shineeko Ann Stewart; two sons, Murdock Clifton Stewart Jr. and Donell Tuniors; a sister, Ernestine Stewart Gillespie, of East St. Louis, Ill.; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Jeanpierre Stewart; his parents, Ernest and Julia Stewart; two sisters, Yvonne "Mama Luchie" Dorsey and Johnnie I. Stewart; one brother, Lanier C. Stewart, and several other relatives and friends. Visitation will be on Monday, June 9, 2014, at Winnfield Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until services at 12:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Herbert Spears. Interment will be in Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary.
