Mrs. Harriet Bessie Jackson, a native of New Roads and resident of Baton Rouge, departed this life Thursday, July 10, 2014. Survived by her husband, Rev. James Jackson; Daughter, Tanga Powell; Sons, Ronald James (Janice) and Cordell James (Sandra), all of Baton Rouge, La., a host of grandchildren other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Elenor Bowie Sr.; Son, Vercie James Jr.; 4 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation Wed. July 16 from 9 am till service at 11 am at Macedonia Church of Deliverence, 17560 Hwy. 933, Prairieville, La. Conducted by Pastor Hase Gray. Interment in church cemetery. Services entrusted to Desselle Funeral Home.
