A retired Licensed Practical Nurse, and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 7:23 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at St. Clare Manor, Baton Rouge. Visiting at Hall Davis & Son Funeral Services, Saturday, July 19 from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment at Southern Memorial Garden Cemetery. Survived by a daughter, Marsha Buffington Harrison, son, Elijah "Joe" Buffington III and wife Brenda Wells Buffington, of Friendswood, Texas; one brother Leonard Matthews and wife Delores Madea Matthews of Inglewood, California; two granddaughters, four grandsons, and 11 great-grandchildren. She leaves a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son Arnold Roy Buffington; mother, Angie Bell Matthews; father Alex Matthews; and sister, Inez Rowe Burns.

My deepest heartfelt sympathy at the lost of your mother. I know what you are going through because I went through this three years ago and Marsha you were there for me. I will miss Aunt Marion.
