Ann Kleinpeter Obituary

"Her children rise up and call her blessed," Our loving wife, mother, grandmother passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the consummate people person who never met a stranger. She so dearly loved her years working at the courthouse with Judge Mike Erwin and all of lifelong friends she met while there. Maybe the most special place in her heart was her years working at St Aloysius School. She religiously kept up with what she called "her kids". She loved to read about their academic awards, sports awards and, especially, their wedding announcements. She would also follow the progress of their children as well. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Kleinpeter; daughters, Kelli Becnel and husband Mike, and Jodi Griffon and husband, George; sons, Briar Kleinpeter, and Britton Kleinpeter and wife, Leslie; grandchildren, Chad and Steele Becnel, Beau and Georgia Griffon, Briggs and Annsley Kleinpeter, and Carmen Kleinpeter; sister, Kay Begue and husband Sheldon; and sister-in-law, Sandra Gourrier. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, John Fred, Sr. and Miriam Gourrier; and brother, John Fred Gourrier, Jr. Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 9:00 am until Christian Service at 11:00 am. Inurnment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. The family wishes to give a special thanks to her caregiver Theresa and to Denise, Judy, Susie, Kristen, and Valerie at Hospice of Baton Rouge for keeping her happy and comfortable. Big thanks also to all the many friends of Ann's who cared for and loved her. Family and friends may sign the online memorial, leave a personal note to the family, or order flowers at www.resthavenbatonrouge.com.

I knew Ann well during her time at St. Aloysius . This was in 1987 when we became Catholic and my children started in Catholic schools. I use to help the teachers out so I was in and out of the office. Ann made me feel so welcoming and was so very sweet to me and to my children. She was that way with everyone. So all the people she touched and made to feel so very special we can only imagine how sad losing her must be to her family. I will be praying for all of you. Sincerely, Laura Palmintier

My heart is saddened to have to say goodbye to you Annie. You are such a wonderful woman whom I am honored to have known for so many years and even more honored to call you my friend. Thank you for always being such a great mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. I will cherish all of the times we sat together on Jodi & George's back patio reminiscing about the good old days: everyone's high school & college days, weddings, babies, and of course John Fred and The Playboys, and last but not least all of the nights trying to figure out who was going to win on your favorite show Dancing With The Stars. I am going to miss you, but I know it will only be a short moment in your time until I will see you again. I love you with all of my heart, Loret

Leonard, Kelli, Jodi, Briar and Britton,
Annie was and always will be such a huge part of my life. I have so many wonderful memories with her. One of my favorites was looking for four leaf clovers in George and Jodi's front yard just a few months ago. She was such a special woman not only to me and my girls, but to everyone she met! I will miss her so much. I am so blessed to have had her in my life as long as I did and I'm thankful that all of you are in my life! My prayers are with each and everyone!
All my love, Laura
