Calvin Francis Piediscalzi, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. He was born in New Orleans on January 13, 1924, and was a resident of Baton Rouge for the last 13 years. Husband of the late Patricia Fleuriet Piediscalzi; son of the late Frank and Olga Hebert Piediscalzi; father of Kevin, Brian, and Keith Piediscalzi, and Ann P. Fontenot; grandfather of John, Rick, and Tricia Fontenot, and Xavier Piediscalzi; brother to Shirley P. Francis and the late Dorothy Lamonte; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He graduated from St. Aloysius in 1941 and worked at Westminster before retirement. Calvin enjoyed a long life spent with family, traveling, and sports. He was a parishioner at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in New Orleans for 40 years and at St. Alphonsus in Baton Rouge for 13 years. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, August 16, from 9:30-11 am at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA 70119 and Funeral Mass at 11 am in the Schoen chapel. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, 3421 Esplanade Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Italian Church through Friends of St. Louis Cathedral http://www.stlouiscathedral.org/friends-of-the-church.
