"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. Tommy Joseph Hatten went to be with his Lord and Savior at 11:25am on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. He was 73 years old, a native of Port Barre, LA, a graduate of Port Barre High School and a resident of Gonzales, LA. He attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, served in the U. S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired from Shell Chemical in 1999 after 32 years of service. He loved to hunt, fish and watch LSU football, but most of all he loved his family. Tommy is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Theresa Hagan Hatten; daughter Tricia Hatten Blanchard and husband, Dr. Mike Blanchard; son Micah Hatten and wife Amy Usner Hatten; and grandchildren Annie, Joey and Tommy Blanchard and Elizabeth, William and Kate Hatten; sister Peggy Huguet and brother David Hatten. He was preceded in death by his parents Budd and Frances Reed Hatten and sisters Katie and Connie Hatten. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1022 N. Burnside Ave., Gonzales, LA from 9:00am until Mass at 11:00am conducted by Father Paul Counce and Deacon Thomas Labat. Burial will follow at Oak Lane Memorial Park, 15304 Hwy 73, Prairieville, LA. Special thanks to Drs. John McClelland, William Hines, the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital and St. Joseph Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Hospice or charity of choice in Mr. Hatten's name. Visit www.oursofh.com to leave messages of condolences. Tommy and I rode to work together, lived close to each other, shared many things with each other. He was a great friend and co-worker. I will always remember him.
