Mary Jean had an unfailing sense of humor, devotion to family, and deep love for God. Mary Jean will be remembered as the "fun mom" in the neighborhood. Her favorite pastimes were simple pleasures; visiting with family and friends, supporting the LSU Tigers, and spending time with her dog Jenny. The family would like to thank all of her caregivers at the Baton Rouge General and Ms. Gayle Pitcher who provided many hours of great care and companionship. A special thanks to Mike West and Naomi Clarke for being wonderful neighbors and looking out for Mary Jean over the many years.

My deepest condolences to the Bergeron family. Mary Jean always had that sparkle in her eye, a sweet smile to follow, and a sense of humor that was reflective of an exceptionally bright, intelligent, and well read woman. It is of great fortune to have the pleasure of friendship with such a bright soul. Mary Jean, thank you for all you brought to us in this lifetime.
Love, Kay
