A resident of Greensburg passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was born October 31, 1944 in Liverpool and was 72 years of age. She is survived by daughter, Laura Ashmore; son in law, Skip Verdin; grandson, Michael Joseph Cardy; brother, Albert Frazier and wife, Dollie; special first cousin, Helen Newsom; sisters in law, Jan LaBorde, Faye Dunlap, Linda de Monye', Dale Rochel and Lillie Bovard and brothers in law, Buddy Bovard and Lance LaBorde. Preceded in death by her husband, Albert Joseph Ashmore; parents, Burton and Hazel Frazier; and nieces, Hollie Frazier and Janet Ann Easley. Visitation at Red Bluff Baptist Church from 6 PM until 9 PM on Friday and from 9 AM until religious services at 11 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Services conducted by Rev. Leroy McElveen and Rev. Donnie Easley. Interment New Zion Cemetery, Kentwood. Pallbearers will be Donnie Easley, Michael Cardy, Skip Verdin, Joey Harrell, Jimmy Harrell, Eugene Horton and Ralph Cardy. I had the honor of working with Janie at the Civil Service office in the mid 70s. She was a good friend and so helpful to the younger girls. She was someone that I looked up to as a mentor and sweet friend. May she rest in peace with Jesus.

Laura and Michael, I am so sorry for your loss. Heaven gained a treasure and I know her crowns are full of jewels to lay at the Savior's feet. Janie was the sweetest, most loving soul I have ever known on this earth. She will be greatly missed.
