Allen Joseph Hebert, Sr., 93, a native and resident of White Castle passed away on September 10, 2017. Allen was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his grandkids and great nephews play sports. As he watched them play, everyone knew he was enjoying the game because he was their best cheerleader! He was also a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus (Council 4346) and the Volunteer Fire Department of White Castle. He is survived by his son, Allen Hebert, Jr. (Michelle); one sister, Linda Hernandez; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Linzie), Justin, and Travis (fiance' Hadley); four great grandchildren, Hallie, Owen, Abram, and Amelie, along with a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Anna Hebert; brother and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Beatrice Hebert, and Alfred and Ruth Hebert; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Blaise Babin, and Virginia and Eddie Giroir; and brother-in-law Herbert Hernandez, Sr. The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers, Betty Bova, Trina Burks, Dorothy Thomasee and to the staff of Legacy Nursing Home and Comfort Care Hospice. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Father Paul Yi will be officiating. To offer the family condolences, please visit the online guestbook at www.oursofhwhitecastle.com.
