Charles Newton Mann (Paw Paw) 84, a resident of Centreville, MS passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born Sept. 14, 1933 in Montgomery County MS, the son of Milton and Virgie Mae Mann. He was retired from Charter Oil and his most recent venture was as the sweet potato man. He loved God, his family, friends, Ole Miss, and CA sports. Charles will be missed by his children Mike Mann (Debra), Sherry Regel (Marty), Mark Mann (Debbie), Terry Mann (Debbie), and his nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, sister Ilene Rucker, sister in law Jean Duckworth (Jimmie), nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 66 yrs. Ann, and a brother Carlton Mann. Visitation will be at Newman Funeral Home 155 S. Cosby St. Centreville, Ms. Tuesday March 6, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm and 9am to 10:30am on Wednesday March 7 with graveside services at 11:00am at Oaklawn Cemetery conducted by Reverend Fred Day and Richard Sutton. Pallbearers will be Alec Canady, Chad Robertson, Daniel Easterly, Eric Swartz, Jake Darden, Matt Darden, and Jayme Shell. Honorary Pallbearers are Ryan Hayden, Chance Robertson, Jackson Day, Donnie Whetstone, and the CA Baseball Team, and Coaches. A special thanks to Compassus Hospice Team Ann, Shannon, Lola, and Janet, Dr. William Hines, and especially to Dr. David McGraw for many years of care, and Field Health System Staff. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Sympathy to the family. Mr. Mann will always be remembered to many of us as our "Potato Man". I always looked forward to visiting with him.
