Jerry L Stice Sr, 55, of Gonzales, passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital on Monday, February 19, 2018. He was born August 13, 1962 in White Hall, IL; the son of James Henry Stice and Evelyn Matthews and Harold L. Matthews. He is survived by his fiancée, Jackie Spray of Gonzales and their dog Abby, sons; Jerry L Stice, Jr, (wife Marie) of Manchester, IL, Devin Walden of Jacksonville, IL; and daughter, Talisha Mehrhoff of Greenfield, IL; two stepsons; Robert F Spray, Arenzville, IL and Skylar N Spray of Jacksonville, IL. Seven grandchildren; Janessa, Kenzee, Olivia,Jayden, Jaycee, Jalen and Nickolas. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, brother, James Stice, nephew Andrew Stice, cousin Mary Ann Baker, and his dog Harley, whom he loved. Jerry was employed by Exxon Mobil in Jacksonville for 15 years. He later worked with Greg Matthys storm chasing, assisting with many southern disasters, which brought him to Louisiana for Gustav. They met Brian Marchand and became installers for Marchand's Interior and Hardware, where he worked for 10 years installing and remodeling jobs in the Gonzales and Baton Rouge areas. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his fiancée, children and grandchildren. He loved the Dallas Cowboys (which he could tell you anything about them for the last 30 years), the Cubs, Nascar, NHRA drag racing, and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at Park Place and the many get together with his coworkers, the Marchand family. Jerry had a great sense of humor and a kind heart, he will be missed dearly.
