A retired maintenance employee of the US Public Health Service Hospital in Carville, LA, he passed at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Our Lady of the Lake. He was 88, a longtime resident of Dutchtown, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Saturday, April 6, at 10a.m., with Father Charlie Landry, celebrant. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille Sanchez Blair, Dutchtown; children, Michele Argrave and son-in-law JC Argrave, William Blair Jr. and daughter-in-law Belinda Blair, David Blair, Todd Blair and daughter-in-law Vanessa Blair, Nancy Gomez and son-in-law Kenny Gomez; grandchildren, Jessie and wife Leahann Argrave, Jeremy Argrave, Denise and husband Casey DeLaune, Dena and husband Nick Dewhurst, Jacie and husband Joshua Bergeron, Kaylon Gomez, Devin Blair and girlfriend Rachel Kelly, and Kendall Gomez and finance Kelsey Griffith; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Hernandez, Dathan, Alyssa, Conner Argrave, Dagger DeLaune, Georgia Kelly and Ethan Dewhurst; and a loving sister, Lela Blair Comeaux. Bill was preceded in death by father and mother, Mitchell and Frances Blair; brother, John "JB" Blair; and daughter, Dinah L Blair. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to St. Gabriel Catholic Church or St Jude's Children's Research Hospital/Papa George Fairchild benefit. At his request, his body is being used to research future advancements of science. A loving husband, devoted father and caring grandfather, he will be missed dearly.
