Charles Ray Moran, Sr. 82, passed away 8:10am on Saturday April 27, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, LA. Ray was a resident of St. Amant and a native of Gonzales. Charles was a retired Carpenter and a local musician for many years. Visitation will be at Ascension Funeral Home 428 West New River Rd. Gonzales, LA on Wednesday May 1, 2013 from 8:00am until funeral services in the funeral home chapel at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. Ray is survived by his significant other Helen Parent; daughters Linda Moran Bourque and husband Thomas, Sr. and Janice Moran Murphy; son Charles Moran, Jr. and wife Cathy Johnson Moran; brother Sylvester Moran; grandchildren Lisa Bercegeay, Debra Melancon, Paul Moran, Brandon Eubanks, Thomas Bourque, Jr., Tony Bourque, Travis Bourque and Brittani Murphy and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Martin Paul Moran, mother Aglae Bercegeay Moran and sister Theresa Moran Roddy. Pallbearers will be Thomas Bourque, Jr., Tony Bourque, Travis Bourque, Paul Moran, Brandon Eubanks, Brittany Murphy and Debra Melancon. Honorary pallbearer will be Lisa Bercegeay.
