A lifelong resident of New Roads, La., he died Sunday, May 5, 2013. He was 36, a barber at T-yots Barber Shop. Visiting at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, 9233 Ferry Rd., New Roads, on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Isiah Nelson. Interment in the church cemetery. Survivors include his father, Phillip Byrd; his mother, Karen Brown Johnson; 4 children, Courtland, Kobe, Diamon and Damon, Jr.; grandmother, Julia Mae Albert; 4 sisters, 2 brothers, his fiancee, Kaneisha Hollins; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
