Edward "Eddie" Robert Resetar, Sr., 82, of Denham Springs, LA, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at Louisiana War Veteran's Home, Jackson, LA. He served and defended our country in Air Force during the Korean War. Eddie was very involved in the VFW and even more in the American Legion, where he served at Commander for his post and as Vice-Commander for the State of Louisiana. He also served his community as a fire firefighter for the City of Baton Rouge and retired as Captain after 32 years of service. Eddie was a man devoted to his country, his community and most of all his family. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Thursday, July 25, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the reciting of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Friday, July 26, from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., officiated by Father Vincent Dufresne. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita Gros Resetar; children, Celeste Resetar Hathcox and husband, Joey, Penny Resetar Santangelo, Eddie Resetar, Jr. and wife, Tammy, Cindy Resetar Santangelo and husband, Andy, Betsy Resetar Arynosi, Sonia Resetar, and Tina Resetar Rousell. He was known as "Pops" to his 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Robert and Randall Santangelo; parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Wargo Resetar; and two brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers will be his gransons and great-grandson, Joe Hathcox, IV, J.C. Hathcox, V, Michael Hathcox, Matthew Hathcox, Daniel Santangelo and Tony Santangelo, IV. Mrs. Juanita, we are so very sorry to hear about Mr. Eddie. We saw how much you loved and adored him. GOD has called him Home to a better place and although we know how much you will miss him, we know Mr. Eddie, your new guardian Angel will always be watching down and protecting you, his Angel on earth.
