Henry Hill Obituary

Henry H. "Cotton" Hill, 91, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 14, 1922 and was known most of his life as "Cotton." He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II from 1942 – 1946 and proudly served two years in the South Pacific. Cotton worked for the Ethyl Corporation for 39 years before retirement. Cotton is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Erline S. Dean Hill; father Frank E. and mother Alfreda P. Hill; brothers Frank W. "Blackie" Hill; William T. "Willie" Hill; Don C. "Puddin" Hill; sister Freda M. Reed; and stepson Bryan W. "Cookie" Dean. He is survived by son, Randy H. and wife Patsy; daughter, Tara H. and husband Stan Dark; stepson, George B. Dean and wife Amanda; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Dean. He had 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home Downtown on Tuesday September 3, 2013. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am with a graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery. Friends and family are invited.

So sorry to hear about Cotton's passing. He had a long, full life and will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched. My mom was first cousin of Dorothy Mae (Willie's wife, so I got a chance to know a lot of the Hill family. My prayers are with you all.
