Dear Miss Mert and Family, You have my heart and prayers. Coach Dave saw to it that I "got" geometry. He was a great influence in coaching me in track and football. His conditioning regime prepared me well for the Marines. My gratitude.

Ms. B and Family, It is with great sadness that I learned of Dave's passing. My most sincere condolences to you and the entire family. I want you all to know that I considered Dave one of my mentors who had a positive influence on my life and I am sure the lives of many AHS graduates. For me, I got to know Dave through many different phases of both our lives...He was a revered teacher and coach; then as an Asst. Principal and then Principal at AHS while I was teaching and coaching...then again, he was there as a Central Office Supervisor while I was on the School Board ! He was greatly admired and respected his entire professional career. But, I will always remember him as my friend who helped me in my life endeavors. He will be missed by many lives that he touched. We will remember him and you guys in our prayers. God Bless. Dennis Landry, Bayou Corne, La.
