A retired secretary from East Ascension High School died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. She was 85, a resident of Gonzales for 52 years and a native of Banquete, Texas. Visiting at the Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 8:30 a.m. Monday, November 5, until Religious Services in the Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Dr. Robert Lawrence. Interment will be in the Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gonzales. Survived by one son, Thomas H. Hutto, Jr. and wife Marian Stone of Gonzales, and three daughters, Sue Blanchard Arceneaux and husband Carey Paul of Gonzales; Glenda Blanchard Ammons and husband Andrew Everett of Machesney Park, Illinois; Brenda Blanchard Shipley and husband Donny of Riverside, Texas, thirteen grandchildren, Charles Ivan Hutto and wife Robin of The Woodlands, Texas; Richard Michael Hutto and wife Kristine of Spring, Texas; Ann Hutto Langlois and husband Eric of Zachary; Nathan L. Gray, Jr. and wife Wendy of Houma; Anntoinette Gray Sims and husband Terry of Richmond, Texas; Renee Arceneaux of Prairieville; Beth Arceneaux Singer and husband Ed of Frisco, Texas; Donna Sue Arceneaux James and husband Jessie of Gonzales; Forrest Andrew Ammons of Rockford, Illinois; Amy Elaine Ammons Lawrence and husband Mark of Rockford, Illinois; Wade Aaron Ammons and wife Janna of Rockford, Illinois; Kenneth Bryan Shipley and wife Dena of Huntsville, Texas; Kevin Layne Shipley of Riverside, Texas, and fourteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband of 41 years, Charles Crawford Blanchard of Gonzales; father Samuel Isaiah Farmer of Banquete, Texas; mother Urith Farmer Peters of De Berry, Texas; brother Charles Edgar Farmer of Banquete, Texas; paternal grandparents Charles and Mary Sue Farmer of Corn Hill, Texas; and maternal grandparents Raney and Mamie Smith of Robstown, Texas. I graduated from East Ascension in 1977. Mrs Blanchard was the secretary while I was at E.A. I remember her as being patient and very helpful when you needed anything. My condolences to her family. I'm sure she will be missed.
