Dear Mrs. Bussie and family:
I was very shocked and saddened to learn that Mike passed away. Mike was one of my best friends at University High School (LSU Laboratory School) during our junior high and a portion of our high school years (1972-1976 or so). Mike was a very caring friend who was full of life and laughter. We played on the U High Cubs football team together, ran on the track team, and shared our successes and our failures. Mike had a great spirit, and his enthusiasm for life helped to shape my perspectives about friendship and helping others. I have many very wonderful memories of Mike and his laugh, and I will always cherish the friendship that he extended to me. Mike will surely be missed, but his memories will live on. My deepest sympathy is extended to you and to all of your family.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

Ive loved Mike ever since I met him having an "argument" with his dear friend Mike Truitt in Barbara Eaton's front yard. He kept me awake in class at LSU, we mourned the passing of his Malibu and we passed some good times at Pat O's! He was an awesome person! He'll surely be missed!

Hi Fran, I was so saddened to hear that your dear son passed away. For a parent, losing a child is one of life's greatest fears and sorrows. Even though I didn't know Mike, from reading the comments above, I know that he was a wonderful young man who touched the lives of many people.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Dear Mrs. Fran, As you know I first met Mike when the elementary school districts changed and I went from Walnut Hills to Westdale in 5th grade. Pretty tough transition for an 11 year old that weighed about 70 lbs soaking wet. Very hard to fit in. At least it was until I met Mike Nolan. We liked each other from the start and we became the best of friends. He was like a brother to me. We spent every weekend together for over 2 years. I will always remember the '71 LSU football season, the '72 Super Bowl, "bowlin with Nolan", and wow we used to go at it on the basketball court. We would see each other from time to time and talk as if we never were apart. He was kind, generous & funny. His memory will be with us forever. God bless Mike, you, and family. Please let me know if you need anything. Thank God for Mike Nolan!!

Mrs Bussie, Tara, Tom, & the rest of Mike's family,
I was stunned to hear of Mike's passing. Even though we didn't talk as often as we'd liked, whenever we did, it was always like old times. I'll never forget putting up EWE for Governor signs (and tearing down Bennett Johnston & David Treen ones), bowling, swimming in y'all's pool, hanging out in HS & College, watching LSU basketball & football games, Kentucky Derbies, Cardinals & Yankees World Series, his visit to Dallas to watch the Yankees & Rangers, running into him at the Sugar Bowl one year, and many, many other fond memories. He will be sorely missed by all. My life is sadder without him in it.
Sorry that I cannot attend services. I would love to reminisce with y'all in person.
