A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Bassfield, MS, she passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Baton Rouge Health Care. She was 99. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home on Friday, May 3 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Religious service at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4415 Groom Road on Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m., conducted by the Minister of Jehovah's Witnesses. Interment in Bogalusa Cemetery. She is survived by daughters, Gercia L. Richardson and Mary P. Ruffin; sister, Rosie Lee Price; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Alice Thompson; brother, Clenward Thompson; two nephews, Wilma Ray Price and James Peters; one niece, Janie Harris; and one grandson, William Richardson. She was a graduate of Harper School in Bassfield, MS and a Minister of Jehovah's Witnesses.

I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Mattie but hope to meet her in the New World where she will be healthy and restored to her youth. Keep close to Jehovah and his organization during this time.
