I loved Mrs. Jordan and her family with all of my heart. I often think of her and how she was an influence on me as a young lady in her class. She always talked to us as a mother would her children. She told all of us the truth about life, how to rise above its difficulties, and how we should present ourselves in public. She was a great influence on my life, and to this very day, I still think so fondly of her and her family.

I send my condolences to the entire family. Mrs. Mildred Jessie Ward Jordan will live on in the hearts and minds of many of her students. Every time I cook, clean or stitch a stitch, my mind wonder back some forty years ago, Mrs. Jordan classroom, home economics. She would say, "reach for the stars you may land on the moon". She wanted us to just keep on reaching, reaching for excellence. She was an awesome individual and educator. Take your rest sweet lady, take your rest!
