A Celebration of Life will be held for Joyce Marie Lumpkin on Saturday, July 19, 2014, 11:00 AM at Greater Israelite Divine Spiritual Church #5, 222 Flattown Rd, Charenton, LA 70523. She will be buried in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Charenton, LA. Pastor Isabella Gasper will officiate the service. Joyce Marie Lumpkin was born on April 30, 1953 in Charenton, LA. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Stevenson Lumpkin and Lincoln Joseph. Joyce accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized by Rev. Johnny Carr, Jr. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton, LA. Joyce was a hard worker, devoted and loving mother, Godmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. But on Thursday, July 10, 2014, Joyce was called by God to her eternal resting place. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, one son Kevin (Tanya) Pajeaud of New Iberia, LA; one daughter Karen Pajeaud of Charenton, LA; seven sisters, Isabella (Irvin) Gasper, Trula Randle, Betty Edmond, Barbara (Charles Sr.) Perry, Ruby Jackson, Shirley Stevenson, all of Charenton, LA and Gloria Lavine of New Iberia, LA; three brothers, Anthony (Felicia) Stevenson, Rickey Lumpkin all of Charenton, LA, and Harold Stevenson of Lafayette, LA; three grandchildren, Jarrick, Bry'Neisha, and Kaysha; one uncle, Lawrence Stevenson of Charenton, LA; one Godchild Aquilla Jackson; Godmother Sherry Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Lincoln Joseph and Sarah Stevenson Lumpkin, two sisters Emily Stevenson Hart and Orelia Lumpkin Mitchell, two nephews Marcus Jackson and Leonard Lumpkin, one niece Rita Hart, and devoted friend Harold Pajeaud. The family will begin gathering at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Greater Israelite Divine Spiritual Church #5. Kinchen Funeral Home, Inc of Lafayette is in charge of final arrangements.

Words can't express how sadden I'm to hear of your passing. As kids you were the best cousin ever. We would always have a good time every summer. I'm so sorry that you had to leave so soon. Rest in peace Joyce I love you cousin.
