Charles Peavy Obituary

Charles E. Peavy, Sr. "Capt", 96, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Baton Rouge General – Butterfly Wing. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and a wonderful selfless person who loved to hunt, loved all his children and family. Capt Peavy loved to laugh and was a known jokester who loved life. He was retired from DOTD and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #163 for over 50 years. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Barbara Spedale Peavy; 7 daughters, Patricia Boudreaux and Doug; Marie Boudreaux, Mary Howes, Linda Dean and Bobby, Judy Varnado, Toni Stogner and Darryl, Charlene Guilbeau and Donovan; 3 sons, Charles Peavy, Jr and Debra, James Peavy, Michael Haydel; numerous special grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents James Murdoch and Mary Lynn Driggers Peavy; brothers, Robert, Dewitt, Clarence, Marshall and Ray Peavy; sisters, Mabel Shackelford, Pearl Hendricks, Hyce Crowson; and former spouse of 22 years, Helen Jones.Visitation will be held at Midway Baptist Church, 27284 S. Satsuma, Livingston on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10AM until service at 1PM, officiated by Brother Charlie McCants. Interment in St. Gabriel Catholic Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Peavy, Richie Howes, Keith Howes, Charles Howes, Christian Guilbeau and Jean-Paul Guilbeau. Honorary pallbearers will be all grandsons. Please offer condolences to the family at www.oursofh.com. Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara and family, Our prayers are with you all during this time. Uncle Charles lived a good, long life and was a wonderful man and father to his family. He will be missed.
