Anthony Roppolo Obituary

Anthony Joseph "A.J." Roppolo, a retired employee of Gillis Long Hansen's Disease Center in Carville, La., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake. He was 80 and a resident of Port Allen and a former resident of Plaquemine. A US Navy veteran and native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm, celebrated by Father Cleo Milano. Interment Roselawn Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. He is survived by his wife 55 years Mary Rose "Mitzie" Roppolo; one daughter, Anna Daigle and husband Douglas; one son, Joe Roppolo and wife Nancy Bryant Roppolo; two sisters, Jeanette "Mitzi" Pitalo and Virginia "Bebee" Reynolds and husband Les; one brother, Charles Roppolo and wife Linda; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Cody Daigle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Anna Roppolo. He served as secretary of Iberville Parish Water Board, the Louisiana Work Force Committee, Iberville Parish Council on Aging and White Castle Lions Club. He was a member of White Castle Knights of Columbus, White Castle American Legion, VFW and caretaker of the Madonna Chapel.
