A devoted and hardworking husband, loving and cherished father and grandfather, he passed away at his home in Maurepas surrounded by his family on Monday, July 22, 2013. He was 68 and a native of Midland, Ontario Canada. He was the owner of TNS Construction. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Wednesday, July 24 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will continue on Thursday at St. Stephen Church, Whitehall from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, celebrated by Fr. Jason Palermo. Entombment to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Mausoleum, French Settlement. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Elter Fanguy Therrien; two sons, Richard Therrien and Christopher Therrien and his wife, Bonnie; grandchild, Austin Cole Therrien; brothers, Brian, Greg and Kenneth Therrien; four step-sons, Tracy Rivere and wife Carolyn, Melvin Rivere, Stacy Rivere, Sr. and wife, Tessie, and Daniel Rivere; step daughters, Vickie and Lena Rivere; stepgranchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Widner, Brittany, Stacy, Jr. and Sarah Rivere. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denis and Lacroix Therrien and a stepson, Simon Rivere. Pallbearers will be Joshua and Jeremy Widner, Tracy, Melvin and Stacy, Rivere and Lawrence Sonnier. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman, he had a love for the water and camping. His most enjoyable time was spending time with his family out on the water boating. Dennis was a good man,a hardworker and loved Elter. They spent almost 20 years together. He treated her with dignity and respect and took care of her. He supported her through the good times and the bad.You could see the love they had for each other,Elter stood by him through his 5 years of illness.He is no longer suffering and in pain.Your family will miss you so very much.My love to all the kids and Elter.
