Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ of Opelousas for Mr. Jarvis Wendell Hunt, 29, who passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 in Baton Rouge. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas. Rev. Frank L. Ford will be officiating the funeral services. Mr. Hunt, a native of Opelousas and resident of Baton Rouge, was a member of Community Chapel Church of God In Christ of Opelousas. He was enlisted in the Louisiana National Guard and served in the United States Army. He received the following medals while serving in the army: National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/M Device, Army Service Ribbon and the LA War Cross. Mr. Hunt also completed service in Afghanistan. Mr. Hunt is survived by: his parents, Andrew and Bonnie Hunt Joubert of Baton Rouge; one son, Jayden Tre'Vyon Hunt of Baton Rouge; one sister, Jalissia Nicole Joubert of Baton Rouge; his grandmother, Cora Lee Hunt of Opelousas; one nephew, Jordan N. Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Vicola Joubert; maternal grandfather, Jacob Hunt; his Godfather, Rodney Dumes; an aunt, Angela Hunt; and two uncles, Royal Hunt and Michael Hunt, Sr. Visitation will be observed on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Community Chapel C.O.G.I.C.
